because i leave for work at about 6:30, i catch all kinds of cool sunrises. there’s a pond that i used to pass every morning until i found a faster way to work, but not a prettier way. in spring and summer, the pond is coated with pollen and looks like something between a swamp and a puddle of mountain dew soda. however, in winter, when frozen, and when the sun is peeking through the trees, it looks much better.
the previous day’s sun soaks into the crops. overnight and the next morning, that heat is released and clashes with the cool morning air, creating condensation, also known as a low-lying cloud, also known as fog.
sunset – mullica hill, nj
this reminded me of the beginning of “the lion king.” because i live near several farms, i see a lot of interesting sunrises and sunsets. i’d like to stress that i do not use photoshop or anything to mess with color. i like things to look as naturallly as they actually were.
This one is Grasso’s Farm, Wolfert Station Road, Mullica Hill. I usually try to avoid “unnatural” things like high tension wires, but they actually went well with the idea of the sky looking kind of “electric.” Published by Piker Press a few years ago.

love your pics!
Thanks. I live near flat lands so I get lots of pretty sunrises and sunsets.
these are my favorite. I love sunsets and sunrises
aww thanks.
Beautiful, beautiful photos. The ice on the pond is my favourite.
I used to pass that on every day going to work.
It’s beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
But in spring its a pollen-covered scummy pond.
Beautiful horizons!
i drive by a lot of farms, so i get a lot of great sunrises and sunsets.
Wonderful beautiful amazing post!!
thank you kindly.
I’m a sucker for a beautiful sunset, sunrise too for that matter. “Morning Ice” reminds me of the place we used to go as kids, with our shovels to clear away the snow, so we could skate. Farmlands have their benefits.
I miss skating
So do I! We aren’t too old, never that, just caught up in life. I think I’ll look into some ice skates. What’s the worst that can happen? Never mind, don’t answer. But worth the risk I think.
Worth it.
